Auditions are required for new members entering the Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra, Inc (SYSO, SYCO, & SYSE). Auditions are held in June and again in September if there are still openings for instrumentation. The audition is to make sure that the student is advanced enough to have a positive orchestral experience. Auditions are by appointment only and will be held at Daniel Hand High School, 286 Green Hill Rd, Madison, CT 06443.

Auditions for the 2023-2024 season will be held on Monday June 12, 2023.

 

The student will play a scale and solo piece of their choice and short sight­‐reading excerpt. The SYSO and SYCO audition pieces and scales should be at or above the level of the CMEA regionals audition selection for your level (high school and middle school, respectively). These scales and solo pieces can be found at cmea.org under Auditions and Festivals.
